Local Governing Board

The Principal of ASCS has responsibility for the leadership of the school, the strategic direction linked to the aims of the school and governors as well as those of the National Agenda and UAE Vision 2021.

Parents and community members are encouraged to be members of the School Governing Body. In their capacity, they can help shape the School’s future direction and ensure a strong connection and sense of community between the School’s leadership and parents.


Shadi Hassan (Chair of Governors)

Mr. Shadi is the Head of Administration and Academic Support at Beam. He has over 17 years of experience in Education and has been a governor for 10 years. He brings to the Governing Body a wealth of expertise in strategic development, project management, leadership and high-level of negotiating skills.

With his keen interest in educational transformation and changes, he works to meet the needs of our learners and focuses on improving efficiency, strategic communication, risk management and cost cutting strategies.

“I hope to bring an informed perspective to the discussions and decisions that we make to help our students perform at their very best, be happy and enjoy learning”.

 


Mrs. Samar Murad (Vice Chair of the Local Governing Board)

A passionate Principal of 13 years of educational leadership and 8 years of teaching experience, Mrs. Samar Murad has always inspired leaders at all levels in different settings to drive schools in a clear strategic direction that promotes ambitious vision. Her experience in leading NEASC and CIS Accreditation process has driven schools to improve their practices and achieve the desired outcomes of accreditation and inspection authorities. Mrs. Murad was privileged enough to work with multinational professionals and gain experience in implementing the English National Curriculum, the Common Core standards and UAE Ministry of Education Curriculum in Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah.

She has a proven track record of successfully founding a school from the initial set up stage to successful practice within 2 years. She is visionary and possesses enthusiasm, resilience and commitment to lead a school of a purposeful learning culture with main focus on developing, educating and nurturing global leaders of faith, humanity, learning and life. She is highly committed to the UAE national agenda and ISCS vison, mission and values.

Mrs. Murad led ISCS to achieve a very successful MOE Evaluation outcomes in the academic year 2017-2018. Mrs. Murad was bestowed the BEAM most Dynamic Principal Award in the academic year 2017—2018 and 2018-2019 in row. She contributed fruitfully at a national level to planning for Sharjah Private Schools improvement and other National projects.

Under her leadership, the school received the Sharjah Award for Education Excellence, as the “Most Distinguished School” from Sharjah Education Council. She earned a number of appreciation awards at the national and inter-schools’ levels.

Mrs. Samar is a chairperson of Sharjah Private Schools Principals Council. She holds a Master’s Degree in applied linguistics with distinction from Lebanon and a Master’s degree in business administration from USA. She is currently enrolled in NPQH program for her UK national qualification of Headship.


Mrs. Majd C. Hussain (Principal)

With over 28 years of experience in educational administration, leadership, and management from various British and American curriculum schools in the US, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE, Mrs. Majd C. Hussain is the founding Principal of the American School of Creative Science Maliha. Mrs. Majd graduated with a Bachelors in English Literature from Carthage College in Wisconsin, US and received a Post-Graduate Diploma in Education & Leadership Management from the University of Gloucestershire, UK. She possesses She strives to create a learning community that fosters excellence, creativity, leadership, collaboration and tolerance. She has garnered numerous prestigious awards including the Most Inspiring CEO Award (2015), Employer of Choice Award (2015) and Chairman’s Choice "Rising Star" Award (2014), from the Bukhatir Group Management Excellence Awards.


Mr. Nooraaney Sattar (Vice Principal)

A dedicated teacher and leader with over thirteen years working with underprivileged youth in urban American schools, Mr. Nooraaney Sattar brings extensive experience and training in school improvement to his role as Vice Principal of Teaching and Learning.

His experience includes teaching science in the secondary level where, in collaboration with the science department team, earned the school its first State recognition for student attainment in a content area. After moving into school leadership he served as Special Education Administrator in a school serving predominantly At-Risk students. There he improved the delivery of student services and built the Special Education department into a model for other schools over the course of six months. Recognized for his leadership, he was assigned as the administrator of the flagship Early College program where he led a successful team effort to increase the number of students earning college degrees while still in high school for three consecutive years. This program consistently outperformed the US national average from its inception. He has served as a mentor for teachers and aspiring leaders.

With degrees in Biology and Curriculum and Instruction, he is committed to inclusive, collaborative leadership. He is a firm proponent of increasing leadership density, and works diligently to establish a positive climate and culture school-wide.


Mr. Mohammed Koussa (Governor member)

Managing the operations at the American School of Creative science since six years, Mr. Mohammed Koussa has a bachelor degree in Business and Computer Science from the Lebanese and French University and currently pursuing his studies to receive his MBA degree from the same university. With his vast experience, Mr. Mohammed is also supporting our two other branches’ operations managers in Barsha and Layyah. He is the Health and Safety officer at ASCS, overseeing the school premises, maintenance, campus security and transportation safety.

Prior to working at ASCS, he was an executive manager for two years at EVision, a web development and business solution company in Lebanon.


Mrs. Shaimaa Fathy (Governor member)

Mrs. Shaimaa Fathy has a bachelor degree in business from Cairo University, Egypt. She is currently the Registration Manager at the school. Her journey started in ASCS at 2013 as a registration and public relations officer.

Her main aim is to make sure that there is a unified enrollment system across ASCS campuses; this includes consistency in terms of services and process, student transfers, and customer service.

In 2017, Mrs. Shaimaa won the prestigious Nujoom Award as the Customer Champion of the Year.


Mrs. Rahima Imtiaz (Governor member)

Mrs. Rahima Imtiaz is the appointed psychologist ASCS. She has done MSC in Applied psychology and had 8 years of work experiences as Special Educator. She worked before in Dubai with two Good rated school with the leading role of «Head of Special Needs». Last year, she also got the highest score with the training certification by Al Talouf training program organized by Zayed university.


Mrs. Safaa Hammadi (Governor member)

Currently parent of 3 students at ASCS, Mrs. Safaa Hammadi has attended 3 distinctive academic institutions, Michigan Saginaw Valley State University, the American University of Sharjah and finally graduating from King Faisal University in Saudi Arabia. She has a very strong passion for academic excellence and would love to contribute with her knowledge and skills as a mother and professional in the school’s board.


Mr. Khalifah Al Jizari (Governor member)

Mr. Khalifah Al Jaziri holds a bachelor degree in Architect, and is completing his Master’s in Urban Planning at the American University of Sharjah. He has his own company since 2003 that has been recognized for its technical innovation in the Middle East region by companies such as Intel Corporation and Microsoft.

Mr. Khalifah is recognized as a leading entrepreneur in the UAE, featuring on several local television channels, including a UAE National Day special, honoring his achievements. He has been recognized for his achievements in the fields of entrepreneurship and environmentalism, being honored with the title Masdar Institute of Science and Technology Young Future Energy Leader.


Mrs. Summayah Al Hammadi (Governor member)

Mother of 3 children at ASCS, Mrs. Summayah Al Hammadi holds a bachelor degree in IT from Sheikh Zayed University in Dubai. She participated in different leadership programs and worked as a volunteer in the university. She was nominated as a Parent-Teacher Association President for ASCS school.


Mrs. Dima Othman (Governor member)

Mrs. Deema Othman is an English teacher at the American School of Creative Science for middle and high sections. She joined the school five years ago as a homeroom teacher, and she taught Sociology, Research Writing Methods, and College Writing Elective courses for High School. She got her bachelor degree in English from University of Jordan, and she is now continuing her master degree in Management Leadership and Policy at the British University in Dubai. She was nominated as the Parent-Teacher Association President at our school.


Mrs. Mariam Bin Subaih (Governor member)

Mrs. Mariam Bin Subaih is a mother of 6 students at ASCS. Mrs. Mariam holds a bachelor degree in IT. She’s interested in developing strategies, and hopes to gather all her efforts to get the best for our children.


Mrs. Yasmin Zyadeh (Governor member)

High School teacher at ASCs since two years, Mrs. Yasmin Zyadeh is currenty working on applying Visible Learning strategies across the grade 9 and 10 Computer Science curriculum. She is always looking for new teaching techniques and enjoys applying new educational strategies in the classroom. She has a Bachelor’s of Science in the field of Computer Information Systems and have worked as an educator across three different countries; including, the United States, Saudi Arabia, and now in the United Arab Emirates.


Mrs. Maisaa Al Alamy (Governor member)

Mrs. Maisa Alamy has been working at the American School of Creative Science (ASCS) for four years. She worked as a homeroom teacher, taught both Science and English subjects. This year, she is teaching English to Grades five and six students. Mrs. Maisa has an experience in teaching at the United States of America. She graduated from the University of Massachusetts, Boston, and she was working towards a degree in Biology, while simultaneously working at early childhood education centers and Islamic Sunday Schools.


Mrs. Yasmin Nasr Al Din (Governor member)

Mrs. Yasmin Nasr-El-Din has 12 years of experience in education. She has been teaching KG students at the American School of Creative Science for five years.

Throughout her journey, she had been selected to represent the Teachers Committee, Nujoom committee, NEASC committee, and was nominated as KG2 team leader. She has the passion for teaching and continuously strives to make education an enjoyable experience.


Mrs. Aysha Farzana(Governor member)

Mrs. Aysha Farzana is a trained architect and designer with a greater passion for literature and writing. She is currently engaged in freelance writing services – content creation, copy editing, journalism and more. In her free time, she likes to write poetry and dramatic prose and read whatever she can get her hands on. She is a polyglot and is presently pursuing studies in the Arabic language.

Having grown up across cultures in Europe and India, she has a unique understanding of multiculturalism and inclusivity.

As an ASCS parent and an avid believer in the ASCS philosophy, she is deeply involved with school activities and is always available for consultation or conversation.

She hopes that, in her role as a governing board member, she can affect positive growth and contribute meaningfully to the future of all the children.
