The Principal of the American School of Creative Science – Al Layyah is responsible for the leadership of the school, the strategic direction linked to the aims of the school and governors as well as those of the National Agenda and UAE Vision 2021.
Parents and community members are encouraged to be members of the school Governing Body. In their capacity, they can help shape the School’s future direction and ensure a strong connection and sense of community between the school’s leadership and parents.
With over 28 years of experience in educational administration, leadership, and management from various British and American curriculum schools in the US, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE, Mrs. Majd C. Hussain is the founding Principal of the American School of Creative Science Maliha. Mrs. Majd graduated with a Bachelors in English Literature from Carthage College in Wisconsin, US and received a Post-Graduate Diploma in Education & Leadership Management from the University of Gloucestershire, UK. She strives to create a learning community that fosters excellence, creativity, leadership, collaboration and tolerance. She has garnered numerous prestigious awards including the Most Inspiring CEO Award (2015), Employer of Choice Award (2015) and Chairman’s Choice "Rising Star" Award (2014), from the Bukhatir Group Management Excellence Awards.
Mrs. Reem Bouzo is currently the Principal of the American School of Creative Science- Layyah. She is a passionate educator with 20 years of experience as an educational leader inside and outside the UAE.
She has started her journey at BEAM schools since 2005, where she has successfully led the Kindergarten department. Under her leadership, the KG has witnessed vast expansion and has received high ratings in several internal and external inspections.
Throughout that time, she has worked relentlessly to improve the opportunities, experiences and education of all the students, and has worked on developing talent and building an effective team to create a vibrant learning community for all. Consequently, her team has won the ‘Team of the year’ award in 2015 in the Bukhatir Group Management Excellence Award.
Reem has a proven track record of supporting quality professional learning for teachers, backing innovative ideas, and putting students first. She has a dynamic and versatile personality and is an ebullient source of energy and inspiration to the people around her.
She graduated with a bachelor’s degree in English Literature and received a Diploma in Preschool Practice from NEC, UK. She also holds a Montessori certificate from MCI, UK.
Reem was awarded ‘The Most Dynamic Manager’ award in 2015 from the Bukhatir Group Management Excellence Award.
Safiyyah Kent, a California native who converted to Islam in 1989, is a seasoned educational leader with over 24 years of experience in teaching and education administration. She graduated with High Distinction from the University of California at Berkeley as a Phi Beta Kappa scholar.
Mrs. Safiyyah Kent was the Founding Director of the American School of Creative Science, Maliha from 2014-2018. She oversaw the growth and development of the Elementary Department from 26 sections and 477 students in 2014 to 57 sections and over 1500 students in 2018.
Safiyyah endeavors to develop a transparent and positive environment where all stakeholders feel a sense of belonging and importance. Her passion for student welfare and academic achievement shine through in her daily work and interactions with others.
Safiyyah has been recognized for her excellence as an educational leader. She is a recipient of several awards including: Integrity Promoter (2015 & 2017) and the Most Inspiring Manager (2018) from the Bukhatir Group Management Excellence Awards.
Holds a bachelor’s degree in Management Information systems and an MBA degree.
Mr. Hassan is currently working on his PHD degree on Block chain & Marketing. He has over 15 years of experience in Banking, Finance, investment, Real Estate and Retail sectorS. Currently is the Head of Investments at Sharjah Investment and Development Authority and Acting Director of real Estate and a Board member of QATRA Water Solutions.
Mrs. Lila Al Naqbi holds Bachlers degree in Sharia and Law from the Department of Islamic Studies in UAE University in Al-Ain.
She is a very active community member. Mrs. Lila has participated in different leadership programs and was part of many governing boards in many schools. She is elected as a Chair of Parent-Teacher Association President for ASCS- Al Layyah school.
Mr. Ahmed is a parent at ASCS Layyah. He holds a Bachelor degree in Interior Design, and is currently completing his PMP certificate at the American Project Management Institute.
He has many years of experience in Development Management, Project Management, Interior Designing and Facility Management and currently working as Development Manager at Juma Al Majid Holding Group.
Mrs. Riaan Nasab is currently the KG director of the American School of Creative Science- Layyah. With over 18 years of experience in early years teaching and learning.
She joined BEAM schools in 2010 as a classroom teacher at the International School of Creative Science – Muwailih. Her experience expanded to leadership at Al Durrah International School as a KG director where she established the KG department at the school. Two years later, her leadership capacity flourished when she started a Nursery in Sharjah.
With the added leadership abilities, she rejoined BEAM in 2018 as a KG director and worked passionately to improve teaching and learning at ASCS Al Layyah.
Throughout that time, she worked relentlessly to improve the opportunities, experiences and education of all the students, and has worked on developing talent and building an effective team to create a vibrant learning community for her KG department.
Mrs. Riaan has an established record of improving teaching, learning and assessment methods. She is described by her colleagues as supportive, compassionate and committed to raising standards. She has dual Bachelors (English Literature and Agriculture studies), she is now completing her Maters of Educational Leadership and Management form the British University in Dubai.
She is a Mathematics and Science teacher at ASCS Al Layyah, she holds a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry and has a teaching experience of over 7 years in several schools like the National School of Ajman and the International School of Choueifat.
She is a dedicated educator with over 20 years of experience in the educational field in the MENA region. She is currently the school wide Inclusion Lead and Child Protection Officer in ASCS-Layyah.
Since she earned her master’s degree in Special and Inclusive Education from Institute of Education, University College London (UK). She has been enthusiastically promoting inclusive policies and practices in Cairo and UAE schools through her post as the Inclusion Lead. Meeting the rights of every student to learn regardless their abilities and improving the whole child wellbeing has always been her mission in life.
Her passion about teaching and learning led her to take different roles in the educational field since 1996, starting from teaching early childhood, passing by heading elementary grade levels to becoming an adjunct instructor at the Graduate school of Education, American University in Cairo. This allowed her to gain vast experience in child development and wellbeing, teaching and learning across all disciplines, and educational leadership.
Is currently working as Operations manager At ASCS – Layyah school Sharjah, prior to this he was a Branch Assistant Manager at FAB (First Abu Dhabi Bank) and has been a Senior Operations manager for over 11 years. His Bachelor’s degree is in Management from Yarmouk University in Irbid – Jordan.
He holds a Technical Manager Certificate from the Ministry of Tourism and Archeology Amman– Jordan , and took many courses such as Leader as a Couch, Leadership Journey, Fire Safety, HSE Training and Child Protection Training.
Dr. Khalid joined Dubai Police Academy and graduated at the rank of colonel and retired in 2008. During his work in the police, he had the opportunity to complete his academic studies, so he joined the Faculty of Commerce at Alexandria University - Egypt, and obtained a Bachelor of Commerce in Business Administration, completed his Master in Accounting and obtained a PhD from Britain in 2005-2006 in Accounting.
He was honored three times by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai. He was also honored by Dubai Police General Lieutenant General Dhahi Khalfan.
He is a member of the British Accountants Association, an accounting expert and certified arbitrator in Dubai Courts.
He is a chairman of several boards and have achieved some notable successes such as, Chairman of Wafi International Services, Chairman of the Emirates Takaful Insurance Board, and an arbitrator of the Emirates Award for Excellence in Governmental Performance. He is also a founder of Ras Al Khaimah Airlines, founder of Al Salam Bank Bahrain, founder of Al Salam Bank in Algeria and founder of Al Salam Bank, Sudan. In addition to this he is a Chairman of the Parents Council in Sharjah.
